Still upset…dear dream job, find me soon please?

3 more weeks till my internship is over…I can’t believe it! I still haven’t landed an interview anywhere, it’s frustrating, upsetting, and stressing me out! It seems like all the goals I set “in stone” for myself never fall through. I really wanted to have a job waiting for me after leaving this job, I don’t want to return to a minimum wage job that I hate! Not to mention hours have been cut back there, so I’ll be making like $150.00 every two weeks…IF THAT! I hope I can find the ad agency of my dreams…I just can’t wait! Things in the internship are going well, I love the atmosphere and I’ve been feeling comfortable, I feel at home. I just wish I had more job duties to add to my knowledge. I can’t wait to be finished, and I can’t wait to get my diploma from Columbia! I paid my school balance on the 1st and submitted my internship papers yesterday, now I think I have to wait till I get the missing credits to obtain it. I’m excited to have it in my hands!

Regular American Dream…

June 7, 2011 at 3:12 pm (The Struggle to Victory) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

It’s almost been a month since I graduated, and I feel so anxious to do something with this “degree” already! I’ve been sending out my resume to people left and right and I’ve gotten to luck. Although I can’t work till after my internship is over, I would at least like to be given an interview and see where the chances go from there. I’m really aiming to obtain an opportunity that will allow me to start working August 1st…the Monday after my internship is over! Yes, I know, I’m quick, but I rather jump right into something than to wait around. I’ve been doing it my whole life, and I think it’s better this way. A lot of people took a break after high school to gather their thoughts and go to the “school of their dreams”, I didn’t! Even though I would have loved to take a break, I started college right away! I started my internship the day AFTER my graduation! No resting time from anything there. I just feel more confident this way. I stay on top of my game and I’m already used to the schedule. Now, the question on my mind today is…what in the world do recent graduates do!? I’m sitting here, emailing resumes and trying to find my first job, and I’m getting no luck! I really hope I don’t end up having to work my minimum wage job for another year because I’m going crazy there already! It’s not a bad job, but I dislike giving up my weekends…I just want to be a regular American with a 9-5 Monday through Friday job…Where are you at Uncle Sam!? Help me out?…

Greetings fellow WordPress users! I named my first post “I should have started a LONG time ago…” because I have been writing for about 4 years now, but never did it online since I enjoy the notion of a pen on paper, old-school, I know! Anyways,  I will begin by introducing myself…be prepared, once I start, I won’t shut up! Haha! My name is Guadalupe Rocha, you might already know that, but I prefer to be called Lupe. I “graduated” early May from Columbia with my bachelor’s in Marketing Communications. I say “graduated” because Read the rest of this entry »
